SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — It’s an annual tradition: Every spring, there are breakout players. And every spring, Giants manager Gabe Kapler, along with most of baseball, will remind you that he values spring stats less than a grain of salt. The task at hand, for internal team evaluators and informed observers, is to sort through the noise. With more than half the Cactus League schedule in the books, Alex Cobb looks particularly locked in on the mound, while Michael Conforto has made a big first impression at the plate. But veteran spring performance matters even less, and it’s no secret the sizable roles expected of each player this season.Of more interest are the players who you may or may not have heard of prior to this spring who are making a name for themselves.Tristan Beck, RHPCactus League stats: 4 games (2 GS), 9.2 IP, 3.72 ERA, 10 H, 3 BB, 8 K40-man status: ActiveOutlook: Got the nod in San Francisco’s spring opener, but has been at his best in his past two outings...

Bay Area atmospheric river updates: Flood Advisory in effect Yakel added that it's not only the speed of the wind gusts but also the direction those winds are coming from that are contributing to the delays and cancellations."Normally the winds here blow out of the northwest," Yakel said. BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — A long-delayed vote in Hungary’s parliament on ratifying the NATO accession bids of Sweden and Finland will likely be postponed again following a proposal from a senior government official. In a letter published Tuesday by Hungarian news website hvg.hu, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen requested that a parliamentary session scheduled to begin on March 20 — during which lawmakers were expected to vote on the two Nordic countries joining the military alliance — be postponed to a week later.
