Officials say the added cost will ultimately be picked up by the federal government through employee commuter benefits for most riders. But with rising expenses, plateauing fuels tax revenue and declining pandemic relief money, the agency is also asking for more from its localities. For Prince William County, the ask is $20.96 million, over $7 million more than in fiscal 2023.“Cost escalation is due to labor and just general inflation,” OmniRide Executive Director Bob Schneider told the Prince William Board of County Supervisors earlier this ...Commerce: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

They did, however, ask the public to have patience.A news conference at Port Everglades took place Monday morning where Broward County Mayor Lamar Fisher spoke on the matter. On Sunday, residents experienced the backup of fuel access as lines curved onto the streets outside of gas stations all across Miami-Dade and Broward. According to Fisher, fuel trucks were unable to access gas shipments due to the flooding. As of Monday night, many gas stations had run out, and the gas stations that did have supply were experiencing long lines. “They said they very low on gas and are trying to reset the pumps,” said a woman at a Chevron. “Jesus take the wheel, I got two miles to empty,” said Tonya Melto. A Chevron located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and South 35th Avenue pumped its last drop of gas as peo...Google Maps rolls out new features for National Park Week

LOS ANGELES — It took seven pitches against a very tough pitcher, but in the end, Brett Baty prevailed, showing the Mets that they made a smart decision to call him up from Triple-A.The Mets ultimately won the first game of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night at Dodger Stadium 8-6. It was a wild, back-and-forth affair, but the focus of the game was on Baty, the Mets’ rookie third baseman who was called up earlier in the day after tearing up Triple-A pitching. Whether or not he can hit big-league pitching is a question that won’t be answered for a few more weeks or even months, but he took a good step toward answering it with an at-bat in the fourth. The Mets (11-6) had just taken a 4-3 lead over the Dodgers (8-9) with an RBI groundout to score Pete Alonso. Facing right-hander Dustin May with two out and Jeff McNeil on third base, Baty fell behind 0-2. No one bothered to hold McNeil on third base and he took a large lead before May che...Latest news
